Wave soldering is a soldering technology used for PCB mass manufacturing, mainly used for soldering through-hole components. The solder is usually a mixture of metals. So what problems should be paid attention to in the PCB wave soldering technology?

1. Before wave soldering, please check the operation of the equipment, the quality of the PCB to be soldered and the condition of the plug-in.

2. If there is green oil in the component hole, it will lead poor tin plating in the hole. So, please note that the green oil in the hole does not exceed 10% of the hole wall.

3. If the thickness of the coating on the hole wall of the component is not enough, it will also cause poor tin plating in the hole, so the thickness of the hole wall should be greater than 18μm.

4. Please note that the hole wall not to be too rough, otherwise it may cause false welding or poor welding in the hole.

5. Please note to check the tooling hole, do not let the holes shift. If the part cannot be inserted into the hole, it will cause welding failure.


6. If the hole is wet, it will cause false welding or air bubbles. In order to eliminate the residual solvent and moisture hidden in the PCB during the manufacturing process, especially when bubbles appear on the PCB during soldering, it is recommended to dry the PCB.

7. For the wave to be stable, we need to pay attention to its height. If the height is not enough, it may lead to missing soldering. But if the height is too high, too much tin will be deposited on the solder joints.

8. The transmission speed also needs attention. If the speed is too slow, the soldering time will be too long and the temperature will be too high, which will easily damage the PCB and components. If the speed is too fast, the welding time will be too short, which will easily cause false welding, missing welding, air bubbles, etc.

9. After wave soldering, please check the soldering quality of each piece, and repair the solder joints with a small amount of missing soldering and bridging by hand in time. If there are a lot of welding quality problems, please find out the reason in time.
